My turn. I'm standing on Mathuset Wilberg. I have four of the blues shares but I could make a nicer profit if I got a fifth. If I roll a 4 then i will land on Victoria Hotel which is the last of the blue shares. No, i rolled a 9! Now I will land on Bredal Sko, one of the orange squares. Since I don't have any orange shares I will have to give money to the owner of Bredal Sko...

Stavangerspillet (The city of Stavanger - game) is Stavangers version of "the
city games" that were published by YMCA in the middle of the 1980's.
A lot of cities had their own version. You could pick up, among others, Sandnesspillet and Kleppspelet. All released by the local YMCA with almost identical rules, except for the shares, the event cards and the design which were altered for the different cities.
GameplayIn Stavangerspillet you move your counter along the edge of the game board in the same way as in Monopoly. When you land on a square marked with a company you might buy a share in this company. All companies are grouped together with two other companies and the more shares you have of one group the more money you can make (...or lose). There are two shares of every company so the most you can have is six shares of the same color (group). If a player stops on a square where you own a share you might demand payment from him. The amount of money he has to pay is listed on the share. Also the more shares you've got of this color the more he'll have to pay you.If you land on a square that's occupied by another player then you have crashed into him. You must then pay him a compensation of kr.600,-. If someone draws an event card that tells him to check the share market for (for instance) green group, then all the players who have shares in this group must pay attention. They might win or lose money. The player who draw the card rolls the die. If the die roll is a 1, 2 or 3 the players lose money. A roll of 4, 5 or 6 makes the players win money. The excact amount they win or lose is set by three factors: a new die roll, the original value of the shares and the number of shares a player owns of this group. If, during play, a player don't have enough money to pay up he might sell his shares to the bank for half it's original value. The players might also trade shares in between them. If he does not manage to raise enough money to pay up then he's bankrupt and has to leave the game. Winning the gameThe player who's left when all other players have gone bankrupt is declared the winner, or if you play by the optional rule (the short game), the winner is the player who has the most money after a certain amount of time has passed. The sharesThe shares you can own are:
