Reporter

A new tomb discovered in Cairo. I must get there quick and take some pictures. I bet the reporter from Dagbladet also know about this tomb. He managed to come first with the story about the giant grasshoppers, but this is my story - and I swear it shall be printed in our paper first!

More info

The players take the position as editor in chief of a newspaper and receives the frontpage from the same newspaper. There are for news stories missing on each frontpage and it is up to the players to get them.

The game board, which is divided into 10x16 squares, shows a map of the world. Each player has four reporters that he can move around the world searching for news stories.

When it is a players turn he rolls the die and turns the telex as many messages back or forth as the die roll shows. The telex will now show one or two messages from one or two cities, for example: "Jalta - Crime". The player then rolls the die once more and tries to get one of his reporters to Jalta. If he succeeds in this then he might draw a news card. If this card has a news report of the same category as the message on the telex (in this example, crime), then he might place this card on one of the blank spaces on his frontpage. Then it's the next players turn.

Winning the game

The player who first fills up all the blank spaces on his frontpage is declared the winner.

Too luck-depending

This game is from 1976. I can remember that we played this game, but it was never a favorite. The game is too simple, you just roll the die, draw cards and hope that it's one you can use.

Example of a news card

"Two million teeth were found in the house of a dentist who recently passed away. He had collected all the teeth he had pulled out over the years. They would form a smile of 10,000 metres!"
