Then it is my turn again. I'm in Bergen and are heading up further north. Airplanes are leaving from here all the way up to Narvik, but I don't have any airplane cards on hand. I could start to walk my way up but it will take many turns to get to Narvik. I will pass this turn and draw a card instead of moving. Hopefully I'll be lucky and draw an airplane card.

In Reisen (eng: The Travel / The Trip), the players are on a trip in Scandinavia. Each player picks what capital to start from and then tries to be the first to visit Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Each player has got four cards on hand. On each card there is a picture of one of the five different ways to travel by in this game: airplane, boat, train, bus and by foot. In each city there are marked out where you can travel to from this city and what kind of transport you need to use to get there. For example, if you are in Oslo you can choose between travelling to Bergen by train, to Gothenburg by bus or to walk to Lillehammer. If you have a card that is of the same type as the transport you need to take to your next destination, then you might play this card, move your piece and then draw a new card from the pile (you shall always have four cards on hand). Then it is the next players turn. If you don't have any of the cards needed to get out of the city then you might pass your turn, discard a card and draw a new one from the pile. Winning the gameWinner of the game is the player who, after having paid visits to all four contries, returns to the capital he or she started from.Reisen is a game for children. Perhaps more fun (or less boring?) for their parents than 100% dice-throwing games as Snakes & Ladders. Reader comments |
