My turn. I've been stuck on this square for three rounds now, because I just can't seem to draw the right card. It shouldn't be that hard to draw a card showing a hat, a basket or a glass of marmalade? OK now, what card should I draw...?

Paddington is a variant of the roll-the-die-and-move games, this time with a memory twist.
The object cards are shuffled and spread out on the table next to the game board. Each player takes a pawn and puts it on START. When it is a players turn he rolls the die and moves his pawn. If he lands on a yellow square nothing happens and it is the next players turn. On the game board there are some pictures of Paddington in various situations, and if you land on an orange square next to a picture you must draw a card. If this card shows one of the objects on the picture the player keeps the card and can move on, otherwise he is stuck. He shows the wrong card to all the other players and puts it back on the table, face-down. Next turn the player draws another card, he can't move on before he has drawn a card showing a matching object. Since the non-matching cards are shown to all players, you should try and remember where these were put down on the table. You might need that object in a later round. On the game board there is also two red squares. If you land on these you must move back to where the arrows show (almost at the beginning. I don't like these squares so when playing Paddington with my daughter the red squares are treated like normal squares (nothing happens). Winning the gameWinner is the player who manages to be first to the GOAL square.Reader comments |
