Kleppspelet (The city of Klepp - game) is Klepps version of "the city games" that were released by YMCA in the middle of the 1980's. A lot of cities and towns had their own version, and you could pick up, among others, Bergenspillet, Stavangerspillet and Sandnesspillet. Most of them released by the local YMCA. The rules were almost identical, but the shares, the event cards and the design were altered to fit the different cities.
GameplayIn Kleppspelet you roll the dice and move your counter along the border as in Monopoly. When you land on a square marked with a company you might buy a share in this company. All companies are grouped together with two other companies and the more shares you have of one group the more money can be made (...or lost). There are two shares of every company so the most you can have is six shares of the same color (group). If a player stops on a company of which you own a share you might demand payment from him. The amount of money he has to pay is listed on the share, and the more shares you've got in this color the more he'll have to pay you.If you land on a square that's occupied by another player then you have crashed into him. You must then pay him a compensation of kr.600,- When landing on special squares you draw an event cards. Some cards tall you to check the share market for one of the groups. All the players with shares in this group must pay attention, they might win or lose money. The player who draw the card rolls the die. If the die roll is a 1, 2 or 3, the players lose money. A roll of 4, 5 or 6 makes the players win money. The excact amount they win or lose is set by three factors:
Winning the gameThe player who's left when all other players have gone bankrupt is declared the winner, or, if yoy play by the optional rule (the short game), the winner is the player who has the most money after a certain amount of time. The shares:
