Jentesnakk

Let's see, I'm spinning the spinner. It better be good if I'll manage to take the lead. A five-point task: "Close your eyes and describe what one of the other players are wearing." If can do that, I'll take the lead...

More info

Jentesnakk is Norwegian for Girls Talk. On the game board there are four "ladders". When a player get to the top in one of the ladders she gets a lucky counter. Then she moves her counter over to the next ladder.

When it's a players turn she spins the three spinners on the game board to find out whar task or what question she gets. The questions and the tasks are of different difficulty and the player who answers right can move her counter as many squares as the difficulty of the question / task. There is a time limit of 2 minutes for each task and if it's not accomplished within in the time limit or the player refuses to answer a question, she will have to use the make-up pen and mark a dot om her nose.

Questions & tasks

Examples of questions:
  • If you'd change your first name, what would it be? (3 points)
  • Mention one thing that you fancy about yourself. (3 points)
  • What's the worst punishment you've ever got? (5 points)
  • What would you do if your best friends boyfriend wanted a date? (7 points)
Examples of tasks:
  • Sing the Norwegian children song "Lykkeliten" without laughing. (3 points)
  • Paint your face so you look like a clown. (5 points)
  • Call the funniest guy in your class ask him to say something funny. (7 points)
  • Eat a slice of lemon without making grimace. (7 points)

The prophecy

The player who first gets four lucky counters (the one who first get to the top on all four ladders) will now get to hear a prophecy. The winner spins all three spinners but instead of reading from the task book you read from the prophecy book. In this book there are many different prophecies.

Examples of prophecies:

  • One of your children are going to be... (roll the die and read the answer)
    1. an artist
    2. a swim teacher
    3. Prime Minister
    4. a doctor
    5. Trond Viggo Torgersens successor
    6. a movie star
  • You meet a boy that you fall in love with... (roll the die and read the answer)
    1. in one month
    2. in 3 days
    3. tommorow evening
    4. in one week
    5. in two months
    6. next week-end

Too childish?

Perhaps this is a game that girls a certain age would like, but they might as well find it too childish, at least that was my sisters verdict.
