Grand Prix

Perfect exit of the curve. Only two laps to go. Put the pedal to the metal! Passing the depot I see that yellow team have got problems with their car. If the tires keep up and I don't get problems with the fuel injection I should be able to win this race...

More info

This is a racing game. The board displays a racing track with three lanes; inner, middle and outer lane. Each player puts his playing piece on the lane that belongs to him. (Yellow in the inner lane, green in the middle and red in the outer lane). Along the start/goal area there are three depots, one for each player.

The players agree upon how many laps the race shall last. When it is a players turn he rolls the die and move his car as many squares as the die roll shows. You must stay in lane until there is another car in the square right in front of you.

On the track there are some squares marked with a number. If you stop on one of these squares you've got to follow the instructions for this number, for example:

  • Your car slides, move out to lane 3
  • You drive perfect through the curve - you get one extra die roll
  • Problems with the fuel injection. Stop at your depot the next time you pass it

When you get to the depot you draw a depot card. This card tells what's wrong with the car and how many turns you've got to wait to get it repaired. Example of deport cards:

  • Adjusting the brakes. Wait 3 turns
  • Filling the gas tank. Wait 1 turn
  • Changing tires. Wait 2 turns

Winning the game

The winner of the Grand Prix race is the car that is the first to drive the number of laps that the players had agreed upon.

Nice cars

This is a typical roll-your-die-and-be-the-first-in-goal type of game that we have seen too many of already. These are the main type of games available in Norway! The only positive thing to say about this game is the playing pieces. They are beautiful little racing cars, made of metal and with tiny wheels that turns around.
